The Opel Monza Concept , a four-seat coupe 4.69 meters long with two large gullwing doors , will have its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) from September 12 to 22 . It is equipped with the powertrain of Opel Ampera , but the 4 cylinder is replaced by the new 3 cylinder 1.0 turbo SIDI which will also have its world premiere at the IAA . It has been modified in this application to run on NGV (natural gas for vehicles) .
The Monza Concept innovates by using a dashboard LED projection . The driver has to more conventional separate counters it , instead of this, it has to face a large dashboard from a door to the other and serves as a single projection surface . This surface alternates information and decorative elements , and the driver can customize according to their needs , tastes or mood . A total of 18 LED headlamps creates a continuous and flexible multifunction display. This is a world first in an automobile. 3D graphics can be used to illustrate all important functions : information on the vehicle and driving internet and communication options or decorative elements. The information display area and the background can be configured independently, and the handling is done by voice command and steering wheel controls.
To simplify many control options , details of driving, navigation, settings smartphone or connection appear only when needed or desired. The Monza Concept is a reference to the manufacturer for future systems HMI ( Human Machine Interface) .
This also applies to all fields of connectivity -based smartphone available in Monza Concept . Using only three words to connect , ME ( me) , U.S. ( us) and ALL ( all) , the driver can choose to focus only on driving , get in touch with friends and family, or to connect to the the entire internet community . With ME , multimedia system virtually cut the driver’s smartphone and gives priority to information relevant to driving. U.S. allows passengers Monza Concept to connect with a group of special people , friends or family members : they can connect to car multimedia system with their own device communication and exchange of information, music or pictures , chat and make appointments, etc. . ALL overcomes the limits of U.S. . It allows the driver and almost the entire world to connect. The driver can , for example, decide to know online the route he takes through a tablet or smartphone so that people can find the way.
